Vuze is populaire torrent-software waarmee je bestanden kunt downloaden en delen met anderen. Vroeger heette het programma Azureus.

Vuze 5.0 is gisteren uitgebracht en kent een waslijst aan verbeteringen, veranderingen en reparaties van fouten die je in detail hieronder kunt nalezen.

Voornaamste wijzigingen zijn dat in de interface weer de nadruk is gelegd op het zoeken en downloaden van torrents - toch de kernfunctie van Vuze. In de laatste versies kon je nog wel eens verdwalen in de vele toegevoegde functionaliteit, maar nu hebben de ontwikkelaars de core business weer duidelijk naar voren gebracht.

Zo kun je in de werkbalk bovenaan torrents openen (toevoegen) en zoeken naar torrents. In de zijbalk hebben MyTorrents een prominentere plek gekregen en zijn ze helemaal naar boven verplaatst.

Verder kun je torrents nu tags geven en is per download een grafiekje van de downloadsnelheid te bekijken. Vuze is te downloaden voor Windows, Mac OS X en Linux.

Let bij de installatie op dat je niet de onnodige Vuze toolbar en door OpenCandy aanbevolen onnodige extra software mee-installeert.

Vuze is populaire torrent-software waarmee je bestanden kunt downloaden en delen met anderen. Vroeger heette het programma Azureus.

Vuze 4.9.0.0 is deze week uitgebracht. In deze uitgave - de eeste in drie maanden - zitten tientallen kleine verbeteringen. Zo worden de snelheid en geschatte resterende downloadtijd nu in de titel van het Vuze-venster weergeven.

Ook wordt een waslijst aan fouten gerepareerd en zijn er diverse veranderingen onder de motorkap doorgevoerd. Je kunt de details hieronder nalezen.

Vuze is populaire torrent-software waarmee je bestanden kunt downloaden en delen met anderen. Vroeger heette het programma Azureus.

Twee weken geleden is Vuze 4.8 uitgebracht, waarin diverse fouten zijn opgelost en verbeteringen doorgevoerd. Ook is nieuwe functionaliteit toegevoegd, zoals 'swarm discoveries' of zwerm-ontdekkingen, waardoor je aanbevelingen krijgt van gerelateerde torrent-bestanden van andere gebruikers. Aan de hand van bestanden in jouw bibliotheek wordt gekeken wat je verder misschien interessant zou kunnen vinden.

Vuze is te downloaden voor Windows, Mac OS X en Linux. Let bij de installatie op dat je niet de onnodige Vuze toolbar mee-installeert.

Eergisteren en in juli zijn drie onderhoudsupdates verschenen voor Vuze. Hierin zijn tientallen verbeteringen doorgevoerd en fouten opgelost. Ook kan Vuze 4.7.2.0 met zijn ingebouwde mediaspeler nu .mts-bestanden afspelen. Alle details kun je hieronder nalezen.

Vuze 4.7.0.2 is verschenen. In deze versie van de populaire torrent-software worden enkele kleine verbeteringen doorgevoerd. Zo zijn twee fouten opgelost en enkele wijzigingen in de interface aangebracht.

Verder is een aanvang gemaakt met het maken van een gratis portable versie van Vuze. Daarover is hier meer te lezen.

Vuze 4.6 is uitgekomen. In deze uitgave van de populaire torrent-software is het uiterlijk, en met name de zijbalk, onder handen genomen. Nieuw is het Device playback-menu waar audio- en video-bestanden geconverteerd kunnen worden om direct af te spelen op draagbare apparaten als iPhone, iPad, Android, Xbox en PSP.

Verder zijn de downloads sneller omdat Vuze nu ook overweg kan met het uTP protocol. Ten slotte zijn veel kleine foutjes opgelost en verdere verbeteringen doorgevoerd. In Vuze Plus (de betaalde variant) is een Streaming playback knop toegevoegd waarmee u bestanden die nog gedownload worden al kunt afspelen. Vuze Plus kan bovendien dvd's branden en heeft ingebouwde virusbescherming - eigenschappen die de gratis variant niet kent.
