FrostWire 4.20.1

Een belangrijke verandering in FrostWire 4.20.1 dat de BitTorrent engine vervangen is door de Azureus BitTorrent kern. Hierdoor is de BitTorrent-component van FrostWire veel sneller geworden en heeft hij meer mogelijkheden.

Verder is de UPnP ondersteuning verbeterd en laat de download manager van FrostWire nu ook de bestandsgrootte zien.

- Major Upgrade: BitTorrent Engine replaced for a lightweight version of the Azureus BitTorrent core.
FrostWire has become a far superior BitTorrent client starting version 4.20.x now supporting:
- Trackerless Torrents (via Azureus DHT)
- Improved Magnet link support (BTIH Magnet Links)
- SuperSeeding
- +100% Faster Torrent Connection Bootstraping (No more "sources needed" for some .torrents)
- +100% Faster Torrent Downloads in some ocassions than 4.18.x
- Transport Encryption capabilities
- Improved UPnP implementation
- New Feature: The Download Manager now has a new column showing the amount of bytes downloaded per download.
- Update: The "Refresh Connections" Tool is now available even if you are Turbo Charged.
- Fixes a bug where Crash Reports would always show an old version number.

FrostWire 4.18.6

Een belangrijke verandering in FrostWire 4.18.6 is dat het nu ook mogelijk is om te zoeken naar .torrent-bestanden. Hierdoor kan FrostWire meer gebruikt worden voor BitTorrent in plaats van het Gnutella-netwerk. Ook is de navigatie tussen tabbladen verbeterd en zijn veel kleine fouten opgelost. In de volgende versie van FrostWire moet de ondersteuning voor BitTorrent verder verbeterd worden en staat integratie van anti-virus-bescherming op de rol.

Right click on a tab and you’ll have the option to hide or show any of the FrostWire tabs right there.

Improved .torrent metadata file sharing
Automatic .torrent sharing has been reimplemented to correctly share .torrent files you use, thus enabling more torrent metadata file content on the gnutella network as FrostWire 4.18.6 and further versions is adopted by the community.

.torrent files have now been included as a search type
Being a BitTorrent client it was unnatural not having a .torrent file search.
The more the community uses FrostWire for BitTorrent, the more search results will be available under this search type.

Other important updates for this first release of 2010 include bugfixes on Theme Handling, the Console Tab dissapearing, a lot of code cleanup, 2 reported crashes fixed and a slightly smaller installer compared to the previous version.

Next releases will improve BitTorrent support and antivirus integration for windows users.
