FileZilla 3.10.1.0 en 3.10.1.1 zijn de afgelopen dagen uitgebracht. In deze versies van het FTP-programma zijn diverse kleine foutjes opgelost - onder andere met het bewerken van bestanden. Meer informatie kun je hieronder in de release notes nalezen.

Van FileZilla is vrijdag opnieuw een kleine onderhoudsupdate uitgebracht voor de 3.10-serie. FileZilla 3.10.0.2 lost twee problemen op met het beveiligde SFTP protocol. Onder andere de permissies van geüploade bestanden worden weer gerespecteerd.

FileZilla 3.10.0.1 is gisteren uitgebracht. Dit is een onderhoudsupdate waarin een probleem met TLS handshakes met bepaalde servers verholpen is, waardoor FileZilla niet meer hapert. Verder zijn nog enkele fouten opgelost en is de interface voor Mac OS X verbeterd bij zoek- en filter-dialogen. Details over de wijzigingen kun je hieronder nalezen.

FileZilla 3.10.0

FileZilla 3.10.0 is gisteren uitgebracht. In deze uitgave worden enkele fouten gerepareerd, crashes opgelost en een geheugenlek verholpen. Verder is het geheugengebruik van FileZilla geoptimaliseerd en zijn verschillende kleine verbeteringen doorgevoerd. Zo is het in het zoekvenster nu mogelijk om specifiek aan te geven of je bestanden of mappen zoekt.

Voornaamste vernieuwing is echter dat FileZilla nu standaard gebruik probeert te maken (als de server dat toelaat) van expliciete FTP over TLS (Transport Layer Security, de opvolger van SSL). Dit is een versleutelde verbinding die natuurlijk voor een verbeterde beveiliging zorgt, zodat gegevens niet meer als platte tekst worden verzonden. Ten slotte is ook een nieuw iconen-thema toegevoegd. Details over de wijzigingen kun je hieronder nalezen.

Let goed op bij de installatie van FileZilla! Tegenwoordig wordt gebruik gemaakt van de SourceForge installer die allerlei extra - meestal ongewenste - software aanbiedt. Kies voor Decline (afwijzen) bij dit soort aanbiedingen (en niet Accept). Na twee keer Decline begint de daadwerkelijke installatie van FileZilla.

Zaterdag zijn twee onderhoudsupdates van FileZilla uitgebracht. Hierin worden een crash onder Windows en enkele problemen met het context-menu en het plakken van wachtwoorden in de Mac OS X versie opgelost. Ook kan de auto-update functie nu weer correct de nieuwe versie downloaden. Details over de wijzigingen kun je hieronder nalezen.

Gisteren is FileZilla 3.9.0.2 verschenen. Dit is een onderhoudsupdate die enkele verbeteringen met knippen, kopiëren, selecteren en plakken (cmd+x, cmd+c, cmd+a en cmd+v) doorvoert onder Mac OS X. Verder zijn de prestaties bij beveiligde TLS-verbindingen iets verbeterd en is het installatiebestand van FileZilla voor Windows aangepast zodat het rechtsklikmenu altijd goed geïnstalleerd wordt. Van FileZilla zijn gisteren en vandaag direct na elkaar versie 3.9.0 en 3.9.0.1 uitgebracht. De laatste uitgave is een snelle hotfix voor een probleem in de 32-bits Windows-versie met DLL-bestanden, waardoor FileZilla niet goed werkte.

Voornaamste nieuwe functie onder Windows is dat FileZilla 3.9.0 daar nu gebruik maakt van de ingebouwde DEP en ASLR beveiligingsmaatregelen. Verder zijn diverse prestatieverbeteringen en geheugenoptimalisaties doorgevoerd. Ten slotte zijn enkele crashes, fouten en onvolkomenheden in de interface opgelost. Van FileZilla is gisteren versie 3.8.1 verschenen. Dit is een beveiligingsupdate die een lek in de GnuTLS-bibliotheek voor communicatie via SSL en TLS dichtplakt. Verder zijn ook enkele geheugenlekken verholpen in deze uitgave van FileZilla. Ook worden wat fouten opgelost. FileZilla 3.8.1 ondersteunt nu gedeeltelijk retina-schermen onder OS X.

Ten slotte is een foutieve weergave van de overdrachtssnelheid gefixt en zijn diverse fouten gerepareerd. FileZilla is - ook in het Nederlands - verkrijgbaar voor Windows, Mac OS X en Linux.
