Secunia Personal Software Inspector (PSI) is een handig programmaatje waarmee je kunt controleren of software op je pc up-to-date is - wat betreft beveiliging. Secunia PSI scant je computer en kan veelal automatisch verouderde versies van software bijwerken. Dit vergroot de veiligheid van je pc, doordat lekke programma's gerepareerd worden. Secunia PSI controleert alleen op beveiligingsupdates.

Na een jaar is er een nieuwe uitgave van Secunia Personal Software Inspector (PSI) verschenen. Secunia PSI 3.0.0.10 is een kleine onderhoudsupdate die fouten oplost en verbeteringen doorvoert. Ook krijg je upgrade opties en notificaties aangeboden in het programma. Geen grote veranderingen verder.

Je kunt Secunia PSI 3.0 gratis downloaden voor Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 en 8.1. Je krijgt de Nederlandse vertaling als je deze tijdens de installatie selecteert.

Secunia PSI controleert alleen op beveiligingsupdates.

Een onderhoudsupdate voor Secunia Personal Software Inspector (PSI) 3.0 is gisteren verschenen. Secunia PSI 3.0.0.9016 is geschikt gemaakt voor Windows 8.1. Verder is een probleem met Internet Explorer 8 opgelost. Details kun je hieronder nalezen in de release notes.

Je kunt Secunia PSI 3.0 gratis downloaden voor Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 en 8.1. Je krijgt de Nederlandse vertaling als je deze tijdens de installatie selecteert.

Sommige GratisSoftware.nl bezoekers melden dat Secunia PSI niet goed samenwerkt met Internet Explorer 11 waardoor het programma crasht. Als je hier ook last van hebt laat het dan weten in de reacties hieronder.

  • Misleading End User License Agreement (EULA) - The EULA currently being used says it is prohibited to install PSI in a commercial setting (which is contradictory to the use of PSI with the Secunia Corporate Software Inspector (CSI)). Fixed.
  • Pop-up while running the PSI with IE 8 and below - Clicking “No” on the pop-up will make the PSI work, but very slowly. Clicking “Yes” will make the PSI stop working. The pop-up is not displayed when IE 9 or higher is installed on the machine running the Secunia PSI.

Een onderhoudsupdate voor Secunia Personal Software Inspector (PSI) 3.0 is deze week uitgebracht. Secunia PSI 3.0.0.9015 lost enkele kleine problemen op. Details kun je hieronder nalezen.

Update 15 november: naar verluidt werkt Secunia PSI niet samen met Internet Explorer 11 en crasht het programma. Als je Windows 8 gebruikt of Windows 7 met IE11 dan is deze update niet aan te bevelen.

Een kleine onderhoudsupdate voor Secunia Personal Software Inspector (PSI) 3.0 is eergisteren verschenen. Secunia PSI 3.0.0.7011 lost een probleem op  dat sommige gebruikers hadden met een pop-up van Internet Explorer waardoor Secunia heel traag ging werken of helemaal stopte. Verder nog enkele kleine verbeteringen.

Een onderhoudsupdate voor de in 2012 geheel vernieuwde Secunia Personal Software Inspector (PSI) 3.0 is gisteren uitgekomen. Secunia PSI 3.0.0.7009 kent veel kleine verbeteringen en lost diverse problemen op.

Zo moet de auto-update van diverse programma's niet meer blijven hangen bij de melding 'verifying update'. Ook maakt het icoon van Secunia PSI in de systeembalk van Windows nu onderscheid tussen het hebben van onveilige programma's op je pc en het niet weten van de status van de pc (doordat er bijvoorbeeld verbindingsproblemen zijn). Dit moet onterechte meldingen van onveilige software op je computer voorkomen.

Verder zijn problemen met Windows Update verholpen, waardoor Secunia PSI niet blijft steken tijdens een scan van de pc. Ook worden netwerkfouten aan de gebruiker vermeld.

En ten slotte voor ons misschien wel de belangrijkste vernieuwing: de interface van Secunia PSI 3.0 is eindelijk in het Nederlands vertaald.

General Enhancements:

  • Auto-update stuck at "Verifying update". Fixed. The Secunia PSI now actively polls for the status of each on-going update for as long as it has not finished (instead of relying on the reporting from the agent).
  • Distinguish between having insecure programs and not having results in the tray icon. Fixed. The Secunia PSI will now actively and periodically poll for status on programs that are updating.
  • Scan result inconsistences. Fixed. The Secunia score is now calculated from the local status instead of using (possibly old) data from the server.
  • Sorting on version columns. Fixed.
  • Windows update check causing the Secunia PSI to get stuck on the scanning page. Fixed.
  • "Add program" link to make software suggestions would sometimes not react to clicks. Fixed.
  • For detected network communication errors, the user is now informed about the problems and is able to try again if the problem is temporary. This is done when changing settings, deleting history, making software suggestions, ignoring/unignoring updates, and changing which drives to scan.
  • Version reporting of the Secunia PSI version and error reporting for use in support cases. Fixed.
  • Splash screen is automatically dismissed after 30 seconds.
  • Secunia Community and Share menus removed.
  • Dutch language option added.

Secunia CSI Integration:

  • When a host changes name or LAN group, the information in the Secunia CSI is updated accordingly (if integrated with the Secunia PSI).

Secunia Personal Software Inspector (PSI) is een handig programmaatje waarmee je kunt controleren of alle software op je pc up-to-date is. Secunia PSI scant je computer en kan veelal automatisch verouderde versies van software bijwerken. Dit vergroot de veiligheid van je pc, doordat lekke software gerepareerd wordt.

De geheel vernieuwde Secunia Personal Software Inspector (PSI) 3.0 kwam in in 2012 uit en had een sterk vereenvoudigde interface. Vandaag is een kleine onderhoudsupdate uitgebracht die enkele fouten oplost. Zo verhelpt Secunia PSI 3.0.0.6005 een probleem waarbij sommige update-instellingen (alleen updates melden, nog niet downloaden) niet werden onthouden.

Gerepareerd is ook het - niet correct - weergeven van een rood PSI-icoontje in de systeembalk, terwijl alle software wel up-to-date is. Deze situatie kon ontstaan als Secunia PSI geen contact kon leggen met de update-servers: abusievelijk werd er dan vanuit gegaan dat niet alle software bijgewerkt was. Proxy:

  • PSI 3 says it doesn't support Proxy. Proxies are not supported for standard PSI installations, so the message is correct for the normal use case. Only if PSI is installed with CSI integration does it have limited support for proxies. Error message updated to reflect this.
  • Proxy settings. When installing the PSI, and if a previous PSI has been connected with CSI, the user is prompted for proxy settings when installing the new PSI. Fixed.
  • During setup, my Proxy host name field defaults to an invalid value. Fixed.

Settings:

  • Update handling. During the installation of PSI, the user selects Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and update. Handling should notify the user when updates are available. After installation is finished and the first scan is run, the setting is automatically changed from Notify (not recommended) to Update (recommended). Fixed.

Icon Enhancement:

  • Tray icon is red but the UI shows 100% patched programs. In several cases the icon would stay red to indicate that the update agent had not retrieved scan data which could be confusing if the user interface was indicating that the system was up-to-date, since the red icon was also used to indicate that the system was vulnerable. A grey icon is now used to indicate that the update agent has not retrieved data yet. A pop-up message will now indicate if the update agent cannot contact the Secunia servers.

Gisteren is een derde onderhoudsupdate uitgebracht die enkele kleine fouten repareert in de software. Ook zijn de prestaties bij het ophalen van informatie van de server verbeterd.

De geheel vernieuwde Secunia Personal Software Inspector (PSI) 3.0 kwam in juni uit en had een sterk vereenvoudigde interface. Gisteren is een onderhoudsupdate uitgebracht die enkele kleine fouten oplost in de software en ook nieuwe functionaliteit heeft.

Zo is aan Secunia PSI 3.0.0.4001 de optie toegevoegd om updates niet gelijk te downloaden en installeren, maar eerst een melding te krijgen dat er nieuwe versies beschikbaar zijn.

Secunia Personal Software Inspector (PSI) is een handig programmaatje waarmee je kunt controleren of alle software op je pc up-to-date is. Secunia PSI scant je computer en kan veelal automatisch verouderde versies van software updaten. Dit vergroot de veiligheid van je pc.

Secunia Personal Software Inspector (PSI) 3.0 kwam vorige maand uit en had een sterk vereenvoudigde interface. Gisteren is een eerste onderhoudsupdate verschenen die kleine fouten oplost in de software.

Secunia PSI 3.0.0.3001 kent verder enkele verbeteringen. Zo staat bij gewenste updates nu ook de ernst van de lekken vermeld, zodat je weet welke software dringend bijgewerkt moet worden.

Ook is het nu - weer - mogelijk om van de lijst met programma's een gedetailleerd overzicht te krijgen met extra informatie. Deze Detailed View is aan te vinken onder Settings. Gevorderde gebruikers kunnen zo weer meer gegevens raadplegen.

Secunia Personal Software Inspector (PSI) is een handig programmaatje waarmee je kunt controleren of alle software op je pc up-to-date is. Secunia PSI scant je computer en kan veelal automatisch verouderde versies van software updaten. Hierdoor is je pc beter beveiligd - aangezien oude software vaak beveiligingslekken bevat.

Secunia Personal Software Inspector (PSI) 3.0 is vandaag uitgebracht door het gelijknamige Deense beveiligingsbedrijf. De voornaamste wijziging is dat de interface en mogelijkheden van Secunia PSI sterk vereenvoudigd zijn (zie afbeeldingen hieronder). Verder wordt nog meer software automatisch geüpdated.

De oude Secunia PSI 2.0

Scannen en updaten zijn nu eigenlijk nog de enige functies van Secunia PSI 3.0. Dit is natuurlijk ook de core business van het programma, dus de verandering is voor beginners zeker een vooruitgang in vergelijking met de drukke oude interface. Gevorderden zullen misschien de uitgebreidere opties missen, maar Secunia PSI 3.0 doet zijn werk (het up-to-date houden van alle software) nog altijd heel goed.
