Flash Player 11.9.900.117 is vanmiddag uitgebracht door Adobe. Dit is de reguliere maandelijkse update voor de browser-plugin. In tegenstelling tot wat eerder was aangekondigd bevat deze uitgave geen pleisters voor beveiligingslekken.

Voornaamste wijziging is dat Flash nu onder Mac OS X gebruikmaakt van de veilige modus die onlangs is geïmplementeerd in Safari. Ook kan Flash nu als pkg-bestand worden geïnstalleerd op een Mac.

Verder zijn diverse reparaties van problemen met Flash in Internet Explorer, Google Chrome en Firefox uitgevoerd. Ook fouten aangaande HTTP Live Streams zijn aangepakt.

Flash Player 11.9.900.117 kun je los downloaden voor Internet Explorer (onder Windows XP, Vista of 7), Safari voor Mac en Firefox en Opera voor Windows, Mac of Linux. Ook kun je updaten via de automatische updater. Flash wordt standaard meegeleverd - en automatisch bijgewerkt - met Google Chrome. Voor Internet Explorer onder Windows 8 wordt Flash geactualiseerd via Windows Update.

• Safe Mode in Safari 6.1 and higher
  Safari 6.1 includes an updated version of Safari with Safe Mode, which implements new security restrictions on the operation of browser plug-ins.  To the extent possible, we've adapted Flash Player to transparently handle these changes.  A small number of behaviors will change in the context of Safe Mode and are explained in the Known Issues section below.
