Hieronder vindt u beschrijvingen van de wijzigingen en vernieuwingen in de opeenvolgende versies van GIMP.

GIMP 2.6.12

Na bijna anderhalf jaar is er een nieuwe uitgave van GIMP verschenen. In versie 2.6.12 van de beste gratis fotobewerker worden enkel fouten gerepareerd.

Nieuwe functionaliteit zal pas in de volgende versie (GIMP 2.8) zitten, die binnen enkele maanden - en misschien al in februari - zal verschijnen. Voornaamste, en meest aangevraagde, wijziging in GIMP 2.8 zal zijn dat afscheid wordt genomen van alle losse vensters als je het programma opent. GIMP 2.8 zal eindelijk een Single-Window Mode hebben, ofwel bestaat nog maar uit één venster (zie afbeelding).

Het uitgebreide gratis fotobewerkingsprogramma GIMP 2.6.12 is te downloaden voor Windows XP, Vista en 7, Mac OS X en Linux.

GIMP 2.6.11

GIMP 2.6.11 is uitgebracht. In deze versie van de beste gratis fotobewerker worden enkele fouten opgelost. Onder andere een printprobleem is verholpen. Ook zijn een paar vertalingen geüpdate.

GIMP 2.6.10

GIMP 2.6.10 is verschenen, twee weken na de vorige versie. In GIMP 2.6.10, het gratis alternatief voor dure fotobewerkers, worden enkele fouten opgelost. Een daarvan is zo ernstig dat GIMP crasht als gebruikers op een schuifbalk (scroll bar) klikken. Ook zijn enkele vertalingen geüpdate.

GIMP 2.6.9

Van de beste gratis fotobewerker GIMP is na een half jaar een nieuwe versie uitgebracht. GIMP 2.6.9 is een zogeheten bugfix release waarin kleine foutjes worden opgelost. Zo kunnen PDF-bestanden met lange namen nu correct geïmporteerd worden en onthoudt GIMP de Werktuig opties weer.

Verder zijn enkele crashes en geheugenlekken gerepareerd en hebben diverse vertalingen een update gekregen (de Nederlandse trouwens niet).
