VLC media player 2.0.2
VLC media player is het populairste alternatief voor Windows Mediaspeler. En het voordeel van VLC is dat de applicatie bijna alle audio- en video-bestanden kan afspelen. Je hebt dus maar een mediaspeler nodig voor al je muziek en films - in welk formaat dan ook.
VLC media player 2.0, die in februari verscheen, bracht een hoop vernieuwingen. Met name Mac-gebruikers konden hun hart ophalen met de compleet vernieuwde interface. En ook in de vandaag uitgekomen VLC media player 2.0.2 is weer veel aandacht besteed aan de Mac OS X-variant.
Zo is de drag and drop functionaliteit in VLC voor Mac uitgebreid en zijn enkele foutjes opgelost als je films op volledig scherm bekijkt. Ook de beeldverhouding (aspect ratio) wordt nu correct behouden als je het scherm groter of kleiner maakt. Tevens zijn enkele crashes gerepareerd. Belangrijk is ten slotte dat VLC de hoge resolutie van de nieuwe MacBooks met retina display ondersteunt.
Voor Windows en Linux zijn verbeteringen doorgevoerd aan de video output met OpenGL. Onder Windows XP is de DirectX-modus weer standaard - wat veel problemen met gebroken drivers (stuurprogramma's) moet oplossen.
Verder zijn voor alle besturingssystemen diverse fouten en crashes opgelost, is de Blu-Ray ondersteuning verbeterd en zijn de vertalingen (waaronder de Nederlandse) bijgewerkt. Ten slotte lost VLC mediaspeler 2.0.2 enkele beveiligingsproblemen op. Alle verdere details kun je hieronder nalezen.
VLC 2.0.2 is in het Nederlands te krijgen voor Windows, Mac OS X en Linux. Omdat het een beveiligingsupdate betreft wordt aangeraden de nieuwste versie te downloaden.
