Hieronder vindt u beschrijvingen van de wijzigingen en vernieuwingen in de opeenvolgende versies van GOM Player.

GOM Player 2.1.40.5106

Er is een nieuwe versie van GOM Player verschenen. De Zuid-Koreaanse mediaspeler speelt net als VLC bijna elk mediaformaat af en is veel lichter dan bijvoorbeeld Windows Mediaspeler.

GOM Player 2.1.40 bevat enkele verbeteringen en correcties. Zo worden zeer grote AVI, MKV, WMV, ASF, MP4, OGG en TS bestanden nu beter afgespeeld. Ook zijn de filters en codecs voor MP4, FLV en AVI verbeterd.

Ook is het nu mogelijk om het splash screen uit te zetten dat soms verschijnt als je GOM Player afsluit. Dit kun je onder het menu Preferences | General | Network tab | Splash Screen doen. Verdere wijzigingen kun je in de release notes nalezen.

GOM Player is te downloaden voor Windows 2000 tot en met 7. Een Nederlandse vertaling is er niet. Tijdens de installatie krijg je de AVG Security Toolbar aangeboden. Kies Custom Installation en haal de vinkjes weg als je deze werkbalk niet wilt.

A major update to GOM Media Player was released on April 19, 2012.

Changes in version 2.1.40.5106 include:

1. Disable Splash Screen Function (window that appears when closing the player) added.

Users can now permanently disable the splash screen that periodically appears when closing the player. This can be done from the Preferences window (Preferences -> General -> Network tab -> Splash Screen). Resetting the player to it's default settings or re-installing the software after uninstalling will re-enable the Splash screen until it is disabled again.

2. Improved the Gretech MP4 Source Filter.

Corrected an issue that was causing MOV files recorded with CANON and FUJIFILM digital cameras to be played with no sound under the software's default settings.

3. Altered default screen size settings.

In the previous version the "Only apply when launching a new instance of GOM Player" option was enabled by default, causing all videos to open at 100% size of the first video viewed during that session. This option is now disabled by default.

4. Improved playback for extremely large files (AVI, MKV, WMV, ASF, MP4, OGG, TS)

Corrected a problem that caused files that are larger than 40MB per second to play incorrectly.

5. Added the LAV Audio Decoder to the Disabled Filters List

Due to compatibility issues that were causing playback errors, the LAV Audio Decoder is now disabled by default.

6. Corrected the Gretech FLV Source Filter

When trying to play FLV files that included audio that was encoded with the Speex codec, a "0x00000055" error was displayed and the file could not be played. The Speex codec is still not supported, however video can now be viewed properly when playing such files.

7. Improved the Gretech AVI Source Filter

Corrected an issue where audio was not played correctly on some AVI files that were comprised of multiple indexes.

8. Product information added to the Windows Control Panel

When highlighting GOM Player in the Programs and Features section of the Windows Control Panel, Product Version information, a Help Link, a Support Link, and an Update information link are now displayed at the bottom of the window.

9. Impoved the Playback Window size adjustment feature

Previously when using the [Ctrl] + [Alt] + Numpad [-] shortcut you could make the playback window so small that it would completely disappear. This issue has been corrected and a minimum size has been applied.

10. Adjusted the default AC3 options

Previously there was a slight boost applied to AC3 gain by default, which was causing minor audio distortion in some files. The AC3 Gain control is now set to 0 by default.

11. Misc

Miscellaneous minor changes to phrasing, etc.

Er is een nieuwe versie van GOM Player verschenen. De Zuid-Koreaanse mediaspeler speelt net als VLC bijna elk mediaformaat af en is veel lichter dan bijvoorbeeld Windows Mediaspeler.

GOM Player 2.1.39 lost een beveiligingsprobleem op dat betrekking heeft op de 'Open URL'-functie. Behalve de reparatie van dit lek heeft deze uitgave van GOM Player geen verdere vernieuwingen

GOM Player 2.1.37.5085

Er is een nieuwe versie van GOM Player verschenen. De Zuid-Koreaanse mediaspeler speelt net als VLC bijna elk mediaformaat af en is veel lichter dan bijvoorbeeld Windows Mediaspeler.

Uitgave 2.1.37 van GOM Player lost een fout op die betrekking heeft op het afspelen van meersporen audio van MP4 video-bestanden. Verder geen vernieuwingen.

GOM Player 2.1.36.5083

Er is een nieuwe versie van GOM Player uitgebracht. De Zuid-Koreaanse mediaspeler speelt net als VLC bijna elk mediaformaat af en is veel lichter dan bijvoorbeeld Windows Mediaspeler.

In uitgave 2.1.36 van GOM Player kent enkele kleine verbeteringen en lost wat fouten op. GOM Player speelt nu onder andere avi- en flv-bestanden beter af.

Release notes:
- When stopping a video file after making changes to subtitle sync settings, a message will now be displayed asking whether or not to save the changes. This message can be turned on and off from the Preferences window.
- Added a feature whereby default playback window size settings will only be applied when launching a new instance of GOM Media Player
- Improved playback for uncompressed AVI files.
- Corrected an issue which caused some FLV files to be unplayable.

GOM Player 2.1.33.5071

Na bijna een jaar is een nieuwe versie van GOM Player uitgebracht. De Zuid-Koreaanse mediaspeler speelt net als VLC bijna elk mediaformaat af en is veel lichter dan bijvoorbeeld Windows Mediaspeler.

In uitgave 2.1.33 van GOM Player is een probleem met het afspelen van bepaalde avi-bestanden van groter dan 2GB opgelost. Ook zijn de bron filters voor mov en mp4 aangepast.

Verder zijn enkele cosmetische wijzigingen doorgevoerd en kleine fouten verholpen. Ten slotte respecteert GOM Player nu de standaard browser van de pc en wordt niet alleen Internet Explorer geopend.

The following changes have been implemented in this update:

- Changed the background image that is displayed when playing audio files
- Added the ability to select 3D Subtitle Mode.
- Added the ability to change filters for playing TS files
- Improved the internal MKV source filter *
- Improved the internal MP4 source filter for MOV playback **
- Fixed a bug that caused playback errors with full screen mode when using the "default" skin.
- Added the ability to select whether or not to play files in a single thread.
- AB Repeat feature now works properly during DVD playback.
- Corrected an issue were some OpenDML AVI files over 2GB in size could not be played properly.
- Links that appear in the text bar of the main window will now open in the user's default browser when clicked (as opposed to IE)

* The was an issue where subtitles weren't displaying properly on certain MKV files. This problem has been addressed and improved, but may not be 100% corrected for all files.

** The Gretech Mp4 Source Filter is now used by default when playing MOV files.

GOM Player 2.1.28.5039

GOM Player is aangekomen bij versie 2.1.28. De Zuid-Koreaanse mediaspeler speelt net als VLC bijna elk mediaformaat af en is veel lichter dan bijvoorbeeld Windows Mediaspeler.

In uitgave 2.1.28 van GOM Player zijn enkele fouten met betrekking tot TS bestanden opgelost. Ook zijn de bron filters voor MPEG2 en ASF aangepast.

GOM Player 2.1.27.5031

De Zuid-Koreaanse mediaspeler GOM Player is aanbeland bij versie 2.1.27. GOM Player speelt net als VLC bijna elk mediaformaat af en is veel lichter dan bijvoorbeeld Windows Mediaspeler. In deze versie zijn enkele fouten met betrekking tot MP3-bestanden en SRT-ondetitels opgelost. Ook is de extensie-icoon van GOM gewijzigd.

Van de Zuid-Koreaanse mediaspeler GOM Player is versie 2.1.26 uitgebracht. GOM Player speelt net als VLC bijna elk mediaformaat af en is veel lichter dan bijvoorbeeld Windows Mediaspeler. In deze versie zijn enkele fouten met betrekking tot het afspelen van MP3- en OGG-bestanden opgelost. Ook schijnen de programma-iconen van GOM voor Windows Vista en 7 veranderd te zijn.

Release notes:
- Fixed a bug with ogg file which is not normally played while downloading it
- Fixed an error with some of mp3 files are not played or having problem with playing time.
- Fixed a problem after scene searching, first part of subtitles is not shown occasionally
- Changed GOM Player icon and added icons for Windows Vista and Windows 7

GOM Player 2.1.24.5013

GOM Player 2.1.24.5013 is verschenen. In deze versie van de snelle Zuid-Koreaanse mediaspeler (die net als VLC een goed alternatief is voor Windows Mediaspeler) zijn diverse foutjes opgelost en is de ondertiteling verbeterd. Ook zijn de schermopties uitgebreid. Hieronder alle veranderingen.
