Voor Emsisoft Anti-Malware Free 9.0 is een tweede onderhoudsupdate uitgebracht die een vervelend probleem oplost dat kon resulteren in een eindeloze reeks meldingen van Emsisoft. Behalve deze zogeheten 'hotfix' verder geen wijzigingen in Emsisoft Anti-Malware Free 9.0.0.4157.

Emsisoft Anti-Malware Free 9.0 is nog niet vertaald in het Nederlands, maar vermoedelijk zal dit de komende maanden gebeuren. De software is beschikbaar voor Windows XP, Vista, 7 en 8.

Voor het vorige week verschenen Emsisoft Anti-Malware Free 9.0 is een eerste onderhoudsupdate uitgebracht met versienummer 9.0.0.4142. Deze uitgave voert een paar optimalisaties door, lost enkele crashes en fouten op en brengt kleine correcties aan de interface.

De grote update naar Emsisoft Anti-Malware Free 9.0 introduceerde onder andere een nieuw uiterlijk:

Emsisoft Anti-Malware Free 9.0 is gisteren uitgebracht. Na installatie valt gelijk de geheel vernieuwde en gemoderniseerde interface op die rustiger en overzichtelijker is geworden. De realtime bescherming (die alleen in de betaalde versie beschikbaar is), Scan mogelijkheden, Quarantaine en Logbestanden zijn de vier elementen in het hoofdvenster.


De gratis Emsisoft Anti-Malware Free is een on demand scanner die geen realtime bescherming biedt (vandaar de melding No Protection)

Verder belooft Emsisoft dat de scans sneller zijn geworden en dat de opsporing van malware verbeterd is. Emsisoft Anti-Malware maakt nog altijd gebruik van twee scan engines: een externe van het onvolprezen Bitdefender en de eigen Ikarus engine. Detectie van virussen en andere malware is volgens veel tests dan ook zeer goed.

In de betaalde versie van Emsisoft wordt continue bescherming geboden door middel van een drietraps verdediging: Surf bescherming, Bestandsbescherming en een Gedragsblokkeerder. Met name dit laatste onderdeel is volgens Emsisoft verbeterd in versie 9 doordat gebruik gemaakt wordt van analyse in de cloud.

Bij de installatie van Emsisoft Anti-Malware moet je eerst kiezen voor een gratis testperiode voor 30 dagen. Als je daarna de gratis versie wilt behouden dan wordt de realtime bescherming uitgeschakeld en krijg je de beschikking over de on demand functionaliteit.

De betaalde variant biedt wel realtime bescherming.
 
Emsisoft Anti-Malware Free 8.1.0.40 is dit weekend verschenen. Dit is update die diverse verbeteringen doorvoert en fouten oplost. Zo worden kwaadaardige extensies voor Firefox en Google Chrome nu ook gedecteerd door Emsisoft. Verder slaat Emsisoft vanaf deze uitgave ook alarm als het mogelijk ongewenste systeeminstellingen waarneemt.

Interne optimalisaties moeten ervoor zorgen dat Emsisoft minder geheugen verbruikt. Ook zijn enkele geheugenlekken en mogelijke geheugencorrupties verholpen. Onbekend is of dit een beveiligingsrisico met zich meebracht.

De Outlook-integratie en cookie-scan zijn verwijderd in deze versie, aangezien ze volgens de producent nog weinig toegevoegde waarde hadden. Ten slotte zijn nog diverse fouten gerepareerd.

Emsisoft Anti-Malware Free 8.1.0.33 is gisteren uitgebracht. Dit is update die diverse verbeteringen doorvoert aan de blokkering van schadelijk gedrag van malware applicaties en de behandeling van bestanden die besmet zijn door meerdere virussen.

Ook worden verscheidene fouten opgelost, zoals het herhaaldelijk downloaden van updates en een probleem waardoor Emsisoft niet startte. Ten slotte is een crash gerepareerd bij het opnieuw scannen van bestanden in quarantaine.

Verder kun je nu weer klikken op linkjes in meldingsvensters en is het programma-icoon in de systeembalk altijd weer zichtbaar. Ten slotte is de compatibiliteit met Windows 8.1 vergroot en is de interface licht opgepoetst.

Verder kun je nu weer klikken op linkjes in meldingsvensters en is het programma-icoon in de systeembalk altijd weer zichtbaar. Ten slotte is de compatibiliteit met Windows 8.1 vergroot en is de interface licht opgepoetst.

Emsisoft Anti-Malware Free 8.1.0.4,  is een onderhoudsupdate die diverse problemen oplost en bovendien de updates een stuk kleiner maakt. Door een nieuw updatemechanisme zou tot 95% minder updateverkeer plaatsvinden.

Ook wordt malware beter en sneller verwijderd volgens de producent en worden ongewenste werkbalken in je browser eerder geblokkeerd, net als andere potential unwanted programs (PUP), zoals knoppen, toolbars en andere ongein.

Emsisoft Anti-Malware Free 8.0.0.10, dat vandaag verscheen, is een grote update waarin het verwijderen van malware sterk verbeterd is volgens de producent.

Ook is de database met virusdefinities flink afgeslankt, waardoor updates minder groot zijn. Sowieso gaat het updaten veel sneller door parallelle downloads, meer update-servers en optimalisatie van het update-proces.

Emsisoft Anti-Malware Free is een van de populairste malware-verwijderaars op GratisSoftware.nl. De gratis versie biedt geen doorlopende bescherming, maar is een prima on demand scanner, waarmee spyware en andere rommel verwijderd kan worden. De betaalde variant biedt wel realtime bescherming.
 
Emsisoft Anti-Malware Free 7.0.0.25 is een kleine onderhoudsupdate die de stabiliteit en prestaties verbetert. Zo zijn onder andere crashes bij het afsluiten onder Windows XP verholpen.

Verder moet het opstarten van Emsisoft sneller gaan en het geheugenverbruik minder zijn doordat heel veel verouderde malware-definities verwijderd zijn. Ten slotte is de bescherming tegen 'ransomware' verbeterd. Ransomware is malware die je pc gijzelt (op slot zet) en losgeld vraagt voor de sleutel. Gijzelwaar zou misschien een goede Nederlandse vertaling zijn.

Emsisoft Anti-Malware Free 7.0 is vertaald in het Nederlands en is beschikbaar voor Windows XP, Vista, 7 en 8.

Emsisoft Anti-Malware Free 7.0.0.21 is een onderhoudsupdate die diverse fouten oplost en verbeteringen doorvoert. Zo is de compatibiliteit met Windows 8 vergroot en kan Emsisoft nu ook gedeelde mappen scannen.

Emsisoft Anti-Malware Free 7.0 is vertaald in het Nederlands en is beschikbaar voor Windows XP, Vista, 7 en 8.
