FileZilla 3.8.0
FileZilla is het populairste gratis FTP-programma. FTP staat voor 'file transfer protocol' en FileZilla kun je dan ook gebruiken om bestanden en webpagina's te uploaden naar je webserver. Voor website-beheerders is FileZilla onmisbaar.
Van het onvolprezen FileZilla is vandaag versie 3.8.0 uitgebracht. Deze uitgave bevat een bijgewerkte GnuTLS-component om een beveiligingslek in de implementatie van versleutelde SSL-verbindingen op te lossen.
Verder is het update-mechanisme opnieuw ontworpen en zijn er voor Mac OS X nu de opties om na het voltooien van een wachtrij met bestanden het systeem te herstarten, af te sluiten of in sluimertoestand te brengen (voor Windows is slaapstand als nieuwe mogelijkheid toegevoegd). Ook is voor Mac een bevriezing van FileZilla verholpen als twee dialoogvensters tegelijkertijd openden.
Ten slotte is een foutieve weergave van de overdrachtssnelheid gefixt en zijn diverse fouten gerepareerd. FileZilla is - ook in het Nederlands - verkrijgbaar voor Windows, Mac OS X en Linux.
