VirtualBox 4.2.12

Met VirtualBox kun je binnen een besturingssysteem een ander besturingssysteem (os) virtueel draaien. Handig om Linux vanuit Windows uit te proberen bijvoorbeeld.

Anderhalve week terug heeft producent Oracle VirtualBox 4.2.12 uitgegeven. Dit is een onderhoudsupdate voor de virtualisatiesoftware die diverse fouten, crashes en regressies oplost. Met name de ondersteuning voor meerdere schermen is verbeterd. De details kun je nalezen in het changelog hieronder.

VirtualBox 4.2.12 is beschikbaar voor Windows, Mac OS X en Linux. Het is aan te raden om ook het Extension Pack te installeren, zodat je onder andere ondersteuning voor USB hebt.

• Timekeeping: fix several issues which can lead to incorrect time, Solaris guests sporadically showed time going briefly back to Jan 1 1970
• Main/Metrics: disk metrics are collected properly when software RAID, symbolic links or rootfs are used on Linux hosts
